Taisuke Yasaka

Dr. Taisuke Yasaka is a Project Assistant Professor at Global Nursing Research Center, Graduate School of Medicine at UTokyo. He holds a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Health Sciences (2023), with seven years (2011 to 2018) of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a university hospital’s intensive care unit. During his doctoral studies, he identified the impacts of health policies on interdisciplinary rehabilitation practices in intensive care units using a nationwide administrative database. His primary research focuses on disseminating evidence-based nursing practices and health services research using real-world data across Japan and the world, such as electronic health records and administrative claims data. His research areas include post-critical care, home care and long-term care for older adults. Dr. Yasaka has been making efforts to disseminate his findings and provide evidence-based practices on critical care for healthcare professionals as a Academic Guideline Promotion Group member of a clinical practice guideline: Japanese Clinical Practice Guideline for Rehabilitation in Critically Ill Patients 2023 (J-ReCIP2023). Dr. Yasaka has recently started several academic activities, such as a committee member of the Nursing Education Committee and Branding Committee in the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine.
