Mana Shirouchi

Dr. Mana Shirouchi is a assistant professor in the Department of Community Health Nursing / Public Health Nursing, Graduate School of Medicine, University of Tokyo. She has a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Health Sciences. Her master’s dissertation focused on supporting the discharge of patients with mental illness, and her doctoral dissertation focused on supporting home care for patients with COVID-19. As a prefectural public health nurse, she worked for three years to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases, including COVID-19. She aims to enable residents with any disease to continue to live at home. Recently, she examined the experience of home care nurses working with multiple professions to support patients with infected patients and families during a pandemic. She aims to research to ensure that residents in regions experiencing health crises, such as infectious diseases, can live safely with appropriate support from multiple professions. In addition, she is currently conducting research focused on enhancing the knowledge and skills of public health nurses and midwives in performing physical assessments during home visits to newborns and infants.
