Nursing Administration and Advanced Clinical Nursing
Dr. Maho Inoue is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing Administration and Advanced Clinical Nursing at the University of Tokyo. After working as a nurse in a hospital for four years, she studied as a graduate student in this laboratory and obtained her PhD in health sciences. Currently, she is engaged in teaching nursing administration and fundamental nursing while conducting research mainly in nursing administration.
Dr. Inoue approaches her research with the belief that enhancing the wellbeing of nurses is critical to improving the health and quality of life of people. Through her research, she hopes to contribute to creating an environment in which each nurse can find value and meaning in their profession and work, and to creating a workplace in which they can demonstrate their full potential. To date, she has developed a scale to measure an individual’s sense of fit with the work environment, identified the support for nurse managers to improve nurses’ sense of fit with the work environment, and clarified the growth process over time of nurses in the COVID-19 epidemic by using qualitative research. She will continue to conduct research to support the careers of nurses.
