Hanako Numata
Dr. Hanako Numata is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Gerontological Homecare and Long-term care Nursing at the University of Tokyo. She holds a master’s degree and a doctoral degree in health sciences in the same department. Now she involves in the education of undergraduate and graduate students.
She has clinical experience as a registered nurse in university hospital and home care agency .Based on these experiences, she became aware of the problem that home nursing education is not well established while educational methods in hospitals are not suitable due to the fact that home care agencies is small in scale and the staff nurses have various years of experience. Therefore, the current research theme is on the job training for home health care nurses regarding end-of-life care, and the doctoral dissertation clarified the status of such education. In the future, she aims to develop an educational program and establish educational methods so that every home health care agency can educate effectively and provide high-quality care for the clients.
