Gerontological Nursing/Wound Care Management
Dr. Chihiro Takizawa is an assistant professor in the Department of Gerontological Nursing/Wound Care Management, Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo. After graduating from the School of Integrated Health Sciences at the University of Tokyo, she was appointed as a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (DC2) and obtained her Ph.D. in Health Sciences in 2025. Her research interests focus on the development of interventions to prevent hard-to-heal wounds by targeting cellular senescence in wound exudates. She has reported that cellular senescence in pressure injury exudates contributes to delayed wound healing and is currently investigating the underlying mechanisms and potential strategies to suppress cellular senescence.
