Dr. Ryohei Kida, PhD, RN Assistant Professor in Nursing Administration and Advanced Clinical Nursing
In Japan, nurses in hospitals generally work two- or three-rotation shifts. Although several work conditions have been identified as associated with fatigue, Dr. Kida and Dr. Takemura found work conditions associated with fatigue and their thresholds for each shift. New findings show that different shift types have varied work conditions, and their thresholds associated with nurses’ fatigue. The results could contribute to the health care of hospital nurses and sustainable organizational management.
