Professor Emeritus Hiromi Sanada, Founding Director of GNRC and currently President of Ishikawa Prefectural Nursing University, has been awarded the ICN (International Council of Nurses) International Achievement Award

This prestigious award is presented biennially by the International Council of Nurses (ICN) and the Florence Nightingale International Foundation to a practicing nurse who has made outstanding international contributions in direct care, education, management, or research. This marks a historic first for a Japanese recipient. The award particularly recognizes her significant impact in wound care, geriatric nursing, and disaster response, both domestically and internationally, her pioneering achievements in nursing engineering research, her leadership in establishing key academic institutions, and her dedicated mentorship of the next generation of nurse researchers. The Global Nursing Research Center (GNRC) remains committed to fostering nursing researchers who will lead the future of global nursing science.
