On December 20, 2023, the Global Nursing Research Center (GNRC) hosted a seminar on “Leadership Role in Nursing Career” featuring Professor Chia-Chin Lin from The University of Hong Kong. The seminar attracted a diverse audience comprising faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduates from UTokyo Nursing. More than 30 people attended whether onsite or online. Professor Lin, renowned for her role as the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Charity Foundation Professor in Nursing and the Director of the School of Nursing, shared invaluable insights from her extensive career. The lecture covered the nuances of effective leadership, drawing on Professor Lin’s personal experiences and emphasizing essential qualities such as communication, empathy, and adaptability. A significant portion of the session was dedicated to navigating conflicts in leadership roles, providing practical strategies and real-world examples.
