On October 7, 2023, Professor Noriko Yamamoto-Mitani, Director of the Global Nursing Research Center (GNRC), achieved a remarkable milestone by being inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN). Academy Fellows are nursing’s most accomplished leaders in education, management, practice, and research, and the invitation to the Fellowship represents more than recognition of one’s accomplishments within the nursing profession. Professor Yamamoto-Mitani’s induction as a FAAN holds exceptional significance as it brings the total number of FAAN in Japan to eight, further emphasizing the growing influence and excellence of nursing professionals in the country.
