Long-term care for older adults is crucial for maintaining their health and well-being. Standardized quality indicators are used to ensure that provided care meets high standards. Mrs. Kiyomi Kawase, who completed her master’s degree in the Department of Gerontological Homecare and Long-term Care Nursing, published a research paper in the Geriatrics & Gerontology International Journal based on her thesis. In her study, Mrs. Kawase assessed the effectiveness of quality indicators in measuring health outcomes for older adults receiving home care. The research led to the development of an assessment manual that improved the reliability and feasibility of these indicators, ultimately supporting better care and quality evaluations for long-term care services in Japan.
