Exploring Insights from The University of Tokyo’s Global Nursing Research Center at Yonsei University, South Korea


On May 29, 2024, the Mo-Im Kim Nursing Research Institute at Yonsei University hosted a workshop with the Global Nursing Research Center (GNRC) from The University of Tokyo. The workshop saw the participation of three distinguished members from the GNRC: Professor Noriko Yamamoto-Mitani, Professor Gojiro Nakagami, and Dr. Sameh Eltaybani. Professor Yamamoto-Mitani provided an insightful overview of the GNRC, highlighting the current research support system for young researchers and outlining the future directions of the center. Following this, Professor Nakagami showcased various research projects from the GNRC’s Division of Care Innovation, introducing the audience to the emerging field of bioengineering nursing. Dr. Sameh Eltaybani gave a lecture on the unique aspects of planning and implementing global collaborative research. The workshop fostered an environment of fruitful discussions and mutual learning, allowing participants to exchange ideas and insights. Both parties expressed a keen interest in exploring future collaborations, setting the stage for potential joint research initiatives that could significantly advance the field of nursing.
