Newborn and infant home visits are good opportunities to detect developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) cases early. Traditionally, public health nurses and midwives conduct physical examinations. However, nurses need to promote ultrasound hip screening in the community to improve accuracy. Her project team has developed an educational program, including e-learning, hands-on seminars, and clinical training for nurses. This program would be vital to combating the issue of missed and late detection of DDH cases in resource-limited communities.
