Dr. Ryohei Kida, PhD, RN Assistant professor in Department of Nursing Administration and Advanced Clinical Nursing
Both shift assignment and organizational justice predict turnover intentions among nurses. However, their interaction is unknown. Dr. Kida and Dr. Takemura examined the buffering effect of organizational justice in the relationship between shift assignment and nurses’ turnover intentions. The study revealed direct effects of shift assignment and organizational justice, but did not identify any buffering effects of organizational justice. This suggests that the nurses may require equality rather than organizational justice in shift planning.
