Workplace social capital benefits in healthcare organizations have been identified, but few studies have included all employees working in hospitals, including non-medical professionals. Dr. Kida and colleagues found that workplace social capital mediates interprofessional collaboration and is associated with an organization’s patient safety climate. This finding provided the potential for workplace social capital to positively impact performance and patient outcomes among interprofessionals.
