Global Activities
Global Collaboration
Since the establishment of the Global Nursing Research Center in 2017, we have considerably expanded our global collaborative research and education. For example, we have visited more than 40 universities in over 10 countries, invited more than 40 global leaders, welcomed more than 10,000 students and researchers from all over the world both onsite and virtually, all within the space of only 5 years. We are determined to continue our efforts to further progress global research and education beyond what has been achieved these past few years!
Researchers from abroad
In order to provide opportunities for early career nursing researchers not only in UTokyo, but also in many other universities within Japan and internationally to learn from world class researchers, UTokyo Nursing and the Global Nursing Research Center has invited numerous global leaders in Nursing and other fields. These leaders have expanded our perspectives, deepened our understanding, and strengthened our motivation to find and fulfill our unique mission. Their example of diligence in the face of hardship and uncertainty, their persistence to find their star and believe in their mission, encourages us to never stop research as we keep going further and reaching higher towards our dreams.
International Conferences
UTokyo Nursing understands the value of providing students with opportunities to share and present their research as a means of gaining experience, learning, and growing. International academic conferences are one of the best opportunities for our young investigators to challenge themselves and make important connections with global nursing scientists. In March 2023, UTokyo Nursing will host the 26th East Asian Forum of Nursing Scholars which was established to encourage doctoral nursing courses in East Asian countries. More than 1300 nursing researchers are already registered and most of them will be attending onsite. The conference will take place in Yasuda Auditorium, one of the most exciting historical and prestigious buildings in UTokyo. As we ever advocate national and international connection, we encourage you not to miss this chance!
International Programs for Students
UTokyo Nursing and the Global Nursing Research Center welcome postgraduate students from all over the world to join our international exchange program held every year. In 2018, we were excited to welcome 50 researchers from 13 countries and areas and in 2019, we had the pleasure of hosting 20 students from 6 universities in Asia and North America. The theme for our 2023 Spring International Program is “Innovative Approaches and Methodologies in Nursing Science”. Although the time is limited, it will nevertheless be full of invaluable learning opportunities and interactions, which participants can carry with them as they navigate the future of international collaboration.
